Lída Baarová. Herečka, pro kterou byla její krása největším darem i prokletím zároveň. Mladá a atraktivní dívka se rychle stala největší československou filmovou hvězdou a dokázala si podmanit i nejobávanější muže své doby. Vztah s ministrem říšské propagandy Josephem Goebbelsem z ní však obratem učinil národního nepřítele a symbol kolaborantství. Dokumentaristka Helena Třeštíková se s Baarovou setkala v jejím zahraničním exilu. Na sklonku hereččina života natočila otevřenou zpověď kdysi milované a následně zatracované hvězdy na pozadí unikátních materiálů z několika evropských filmových archivů i ukázek slavných rolí Lídy Baarové. Příběh sebedestruktivní lovestory s proporcemi antické tragédie je fatálně spjat s evropskými dějinami a ukazuje mimořádně upřímný portrét ženy, jíž na vrcholu kariéry ležel svět u nohou. O to monumentálnější byl pak její pád do zapomnění a samoty.
